Next Inc. ("Next Inc.", "we", "us", "our") provides Next Picks, a public directory of local businesses, at nextcard.ai. Our address is 3600 Steeles Ave E, Markham, ON L3R 9Z7, Canada. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information ("Information") and other data ("Data") through Next Picks and related pages on that site (the "Services").
By using the Services, you consent to the practices in this Privacy Policy. Please also read our Terms of Service.
(a) Purpose: We collect Information and Data to run the directory, answer messages, check listings, and understand how the site is used.
(b) Browsing: You can browse Next Picks without an account. As you use the site we collect usage data such as IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from that technical data.
(c) Contact form: If you write to us from the contact page, we collect your name, email address, and message so we can reply. Those messages are sent to contact@nextaisite.com.
(d) Cookies and analytics: We use cookies and similar technologies that the site needs to run, and Google Analytics (including Google Tag Manager) to measure visits. We do not use cookies to sell advertising profiles. You can control cookies in your browser.
(e) Business Listing Information: Next Picks shows public business websites, the way a search engine or directory does. A listing comes from a website address submitted on the Join page, or from a live website built on NextAIsite whose owner left "Show on Next Picks" on in the NextAIsite admin. We collect only the website address; we do not ask for an email address or an account. Our crawler, NextPicksBot, reads the public pages of that website to check that it describes a local business and to show its name, a short description, category, and public contact details. We follow the website's robots.txt and noindex settings: a site that asks crawlers to stay out is not listed. To run the check, we send the website's public text to OpenAI, which processes it on our behalf.
(f) Google Business Profile Data: If the owner chooses to authorize Google, we request read-only access to the owner's Google Business Profile and read the business name, address, phone number, website, categories, and opening hours. We do not read the Google account email. We store the location the owner selects only with the owner's consent, and use it to fill in the listing and to make the AI check more accurate. To run that check, we send these details and the website's public text to OpenAI, which processes them on our behalf. We revoke the Google access token right after reading the profile and do not store it. We never post to or change the owner's Google Business Profile. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
(g) What a listing shows: A published listing can display the business name, a short description, category, address, phone number, and website. Those fields come from the public website or from the Google Business Profile the owner authorized. This is a public directory, not a private file.
(h) AI checks: The Join check and the on-site AI review send public page text, and any Google Business Profile details the owner selected, to OpenAI to produce the check or the summary. The promise in section 1(f) that Google API data is not used to train AI models applies to that Google data. We do not make that same promise for other text sent to OpenAI.
We use Information and Data to operate and improve Next Picks, show listings, run AI checks, reply to contact messages, measure traffic, and enforce our Terms of Service.
We share Information and Data with service providers that process it for us, including OpenAI for the checks described above and Google for Analytics. Listing fields in section 1(g) are shown to the public. We do not sell Google Business Profile data. We otherwise share Information only as described in this policy or with your consent.
We email you when you send the contact form, or when we need to write about a listing or these terms. We do not send a promotional mailing list from Next Picks.
We retain Information and Data as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as required by law.
Business listings: a listing is kept while its website is public. Google Business Profile data is kept until the owner asks us to delete it. A NextAIsite website is removed from the listing when it goes offline or its owner turns "Show on Next Picks" off. When a listing is removed on request, we delete its business details and Google data and keep only the website address and removal status, so the website is not listed again automatically. Contact messages are kept long enough to handle the request and any follow-up.
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you may ask to access, correct, or delete your Information, subject to legal limits. Email contact@nextaisite.com. To remove a business listing, change it, or delete Google Business Profile data, email review@nextaisite.com. We verify that the request comes from the business before we act on it. Owners of NextAIsite websites can also turn listing off in Website Settings. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We use reasonable measures to protect Information and Data from unauthorized access and use. No method of storage or transmission is infallible.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page. If a change materially affects how we use Information, we will also note it on the site.
